We where given a brand-new and beautifully designed room with central heating, television and a microwave oven. The breakfast was reasonable and delightful, the check in was fast. The pool was heated too...

We stayed at the Magic Carpet Lodge because it was close to the Monterey Jazz Festival grounds, there was availability, breakfast was included and we were close to the Ocean.
The bathroom fixtures were old but entirely adequate.

The staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast is included. The location is close to Monterey and Carmel. Possibility to have shopping in the big shopping centre just around the corner of the inn.

We had to make an unexpected overnight stay and needed an inexpensice place. It was very clean for $50. I was pleasantly surprised. The bed was fine, not super cushy. They have a nice pool and continental breakfast was fine. It was all fine and good for the price. The people at the front desk were very nice.
For the price it did the trick. My only complaint would be that the doors slamming were really loud. But it was a pretty quiet place in general so as soon as it got late it was not a problem.

We stayed in a nice, clean room on the 2nd floor with a balcony, view towards the pool and backyard (car parks). The room was equipped with lots of freebies like soap, shampoo, coffee, etc. It was calm here, only low noise from the street, none of other guest (except kids in the pool sometimes). The staff and other guests were very friendly and chatty. Continental breakfast meant orange juice, coffee, tea, milk, toast, bagels, cream cheese, jam, cereals, fruits and pastry - all in all very good.
The shower was a bit low (about shoulder height for tall people) but this seems to be common for that kind of motel. No WiFi internet access in the room (allegedly due to fog) but we were welcome to sit in the lobby and bring our devices. Neighborhood is bad - just motels, car dealers and light industry. You'll have to drive to Monterey city for your evening walk.

Overpriced and the lights were on motion sensor so they kept going off if we were reading or watching TV.

Perfect location for family trips
The staff were accommodating, especially with our request for adjacent rooms. We appreciated that the motel was pet-friendly, great to bring our small dogs along without any hassle. I did notice that the bathrooms could use some modernization, as there were hints of wear and tear in that area.

Great place, I appreciated really helpful personnel.
My room was a nice size and stocked with balcony, high ceiling and continental breakfast as described. The location was perfect - within a walking distance of everywhere I wanted to go. Also, Del Monte Beach was 2 miles away.
